Valerie Swihart is the founder and managing broker on site. Valerie graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. Her first real job after college was working for the Los Angeles County Assessor’s office as a Real Estate Appraiser. Valerie was a Certified Property Tax Appraiser in California as well as a Licensed Fee Appraiser for Residential property. Due to the high volume of appraisals processed by the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office she gained a lot of experience in the four years she worked there. In 2011 Valerie was interested in acquiring some rental homes in a market that was less competitive than Los Angeles and was referred to an agent in South Bend. She flew to South Bend, Indiana to investigate the opportunity and there was a man sitting next to her on the flight that is now her husband. Valerie started in this market as an investor and transitioned into real estate to offer the services she was looking for so early on.
David Whiting is the maintenance manager and overseas our team of maintenance technicians. He has been part of our team since 2013 and is vital to our daily operations. David has been working in older homes and fire restoration for over twenty years. David handles all of our code enforcement and HUD inspections and works with the maintenance team to ensure work orders and rehabs are being completed in a timely manner as well as done in accordance with city code.
Kaitlyn Swihart is our office manager and is currently studying Business Administration at Indiana University in South Bend. She has been with our company since 2014 and a vital part of our team. Kaitlyn oversees the majority of our data entry, receipt processing, obtaining and paying property tax bills, the payment of bills and more. Kaitlyn also assists with the front office to help answer the phones, respond to tenant prospects, work orders and concerns. Kaitlyn helps fill the gaps as needed and assists in many areas of the office.
Mackenzie Swihart is our Resident & Leasing Manager; she takes care of managing our residents and ensuring that the homes get rented in a timely manner. Her responsibilities include: processing applications, tenant collections, evictions, lease signings, handling all of our day to day tenant relations. Mackenzie was born and raised in Nappanee, Indiana and is now working towards obtaining her Realtor’s license. She has extensive customer service experience and enjoys getting to know our residents. Mackenzie will also be working with homeowners and investors to purchase and sell their homes once she obtains her license.
Kesha Ansley is is our administrative assistant. She joined our team in 2017 and handles the majority of our data entry, processing receipts, handling the front office to answer phones, respond to tenant prospects, filing, scanning, work orders and concerns. Kesha helps fill the gaps as needed and assists in many areas of the office.
